Library

By passage of time Library has undergone dramatic changes. It has grown faster & faster in the interest of beneficiaries. Now the collection is 22,000 books and bound issues of Journals are 11450. At present we are subscribing 35 Journals for the year 2000. There are 2000 Thesis in the Library. In addition there are : 

Departmental Libraries :
With collection of core text books, Reference books  in each department.

Physiotherypy :
 A new section of books on Physiotherapy has been started which caters to the needs of the Bachelor in Physiotherypy Course. There 600 text and reference books. 

Tagore Library hold fiction Literature, encyclopaediqs & General books. 

Alumini for Library :
The group of 1968 batch Alumni donated 36 books in addition 4 Journals for the  past 4 years are being subscribed. Some Journals in our Library date back to 1890 and some starting from Vol.1 are available in good binding condition. These Journals includes British Medical Journal, Lancet, JAMA, New England Journals of Medicine . Nature & Science chemical Abstract, Biological Abstract.

All collections of Library are indexed & Accessible to the readers.

Our Library was adjudged as the Best Library in the Indore Division and was presented Dr. Motiwale Memorial Sheild in 1997. A Proud achievement indeed.

Services :
Library caters to need of undergraduate, post graduate, Research scholors and teaching staff. Library remains open from 10 am. to 9 pm. daily and 12 to 6 pm. on all second & third Saturdays and gazetted holidays of state Government excepting Sunday. Members are issued books in reading room, for home reading and book bank  is for undergraduates only.

Budget :
Budget sanction for Library Rs. 2,35,000 for the year 2000 from state Govt. & 5,00,000 Rs. from autonomous body Tribal welfare department of Bhopal sanctioned Rs. 2,51,500 in 1999 & 1,29,000 in the year 2000 for purchase of text books for Book Bank. Books are being issued to the SC/ST. students.

This year we have been to place orders for 25 foreign Journals and Several important text and reference books. This has been achieved after a gap of 11 years due special sanction of budget from the M.G.M. autonomous Society. 

Thus this has been a land mark achievement of the Library in terms of addition of quality and quantity of books and journals.

Staff :
At present 8 staff working in the Library. One librarian Mrs. Deergha Shopurkar with Professional degree one Catalogar, five class 4th Employee & one Sweeper.

Help runs Computer Section : Computer Network with 3 terminals connected with Internet access to World Literature.
